Decision details

THAT COUNCIL:

1.       Receives the report as contained in Item 7.1 on the Agenda for the meeting of the City Planning, Development and Business Affairs Committee held on 2 June 2026.

2.       Notes the engagement with Traditional Owners under the principles of Free, Prior and Informed Consent required by UNESCO for a World Heritage Bid Tentative List Submission.

3.       Notes the stakeholder engagement and marketing activities undertaken to support the World Heritage Bid and proposed next steps to develop this as a State tourism development opportunity.

4.       Notes that approximately $60,000 of funding has been indicated to be transferred to the City of Adelaide by the Mount Lofty Consortium in 2026/27, to contribute towards the ongoing development of the World Heritage Bid Tentative List Submission.

5.       Notes that Kadaltilla/Adelaide Park Lands Authority requested the Administration to provide an updated timeline of steps and plans for advocacy regarding the World Heritage Bid Tentative List Submission at its meeting dated 27 May 2026, which has been included in the recommendations made to Council dated 9 June 2026.
